Historical data access for OPC clients
Expose your SCADA historian to third-party OPC HDA clients via standards-based Windows COM/DCOM.
What it is
WizIIOT OPC HDA Server bridges your industrial data historian with external OPC HDA client applications—dashboards, analysis tools, and legacy systems. It registers as a Windows COM/DCOM server, enumerates your SCADA tags, and serves historical queries (raw data, processed/aggregated values, data at specific times) at low latency. Runs as a Windows service or console application on the same network as your database.
Key benefits
Unlock legacy integrations
Connect any OPC HDA-compatible third-party software to your WizIIOT historian without custom APIs or middleware—standard protocol, no rewrites.
Multi-query historical retrieval
Clients can fetch raw readings, time-aligned snapshots, or aggregates (averages, counts) with real-time refresh, unblocking analytics and compliance workflows.
Enterprise deployment ready
DCOM-enabled for remote client access, virtual-thread backend for high concurrency, and native event logging for troubleshooting failed reads and registry issues.
No historian migration
Your WizIIOT database and tag tree remain unchanged; the server layers OPC on top, letting you adopt third-party tools incrementally.
Capabilities
- Enumerate SCADA device, location, controller, and tag hierarchy as OPC HDA items
- Query raw historical readings, processed aggregates, and values at specific timestamps
- Support multiple concurrent OPC HDA clients via Windows COM/DCOM activation
- Auto-refresh tag tree from the platform database on startup
- Configurable cache and item limits to match your network and database scale
- Integrated logging for protocol handshakes, tag mapping, and read-dispatch diagnostics
- Deploy as Windows service with remote network access via DCOM or as a console application for development
